Independent Family Funeral Directors

Established in 1996 by Michael Franks, M Franks & Sons is a family-run funeral business in Ashcott.

Michael Franks had been helping a local undertaker R A Baker & Sons since the age of seventeen and after their retirement, Michael took over the business and established it in his own right. With the support of his wife Kathleen and their three sons, it was a privilege for them to provide a personal, family funeral service to the local community including the farming community. Sadly Michael passed away and his sons Stephen, Stewart and Robert were determined to continue the good work their father had started.

The three brothers continue to work closely together along with Stephen’s wife Melanie who now provides secretarial and administrative support for the business. Melanie has become a dedicated, compassionate and caring support to the families helping them through the sad and often overwhelming process. M Franks & Sons have their own private Chapel of Rest which provides the focus of the funeral business.

Our services

Dairy Farming

The three brothers continue to maintain their traditional family dairy farm. They have supported many fund raising and charitable events within the local community and are often asked to publicly speak about their unique farming diversification.
